Samuel Smithers FITT was baptised at Selborne on the 11th August 1836. His father, Frederick Warne FITT, was a miller at the water mill off the main street in Selborne. On 7th October 1858 Samuel marrried Ann WELLS at Selborne and in 1861 was a miller at Selborne living at 124 Gracious street. By 1867 Samuel was a victualler and butcher at the 'Bugle Inn' West street, Fareham.
